Welcome to Warren Township High School's choral website. Choir is a two semester class where students are using their vocal skills to the best of their ability to create a unique sound to their specific group. Our choirs are split into four different groups, two at each campus. Our O'Plaine campus consists of "Fresh-Sophomore Concert Choir" and "Sophomore Treble Choir". While our Almond Campus consists of "Junior-Senior Concert Choir" and "Junior-Senior Treble Choir".
I apologize for the late posting. Congratulations to the 2017-2018 Concert Choir. I will be sending this list to the counselors this week!
Fresh-Sophomore Concert Choir is an entry level group consisting of new freshman girls and boys along with sophomore boys. The group is taught the basic vocal training skills used in their four concert performances throughout the year.
Sophomore Treble Choir is an all girl non-auditioned choir consisting of sophomore girls. This choir is an intermediate level class. The group is taught different styles of music ranging from Latin to French and a plethora of music skills used by the everyday musician.
Junior-Senior Treble Choir is an all girl non-auditioned choir mixed with Junior and Senior girls. The choir is a standard group that is taught different music skills that they will use in different styles of music performed in their concert repertoire.
Junior-Senior Concert Choir is the top ensemble in Warren's choral program. It is an auditioned group in which only the top vocal musicians are placed in. This ensemble consist of both Junior and Senior boys and girls coming from the choirs listed above. The ensemble is taught advanced musicianship skills that are used in the class everyday like sight reading, scales, triads, advanced rounds, etc.
Vocal Velocity is our auditioned show choir. The ensemble meets up after school to learn music and dances for the themed concert of the year. This group is one semester long and during football season they sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the home football games. The ensemble also does a number of caroling events throughout the holiday season.
Bluetones is an all female, collegiate, a cappella group. The ensemble is auditioned in the fall and is open to all Freshman-Seniors that are participants in a choir ensemble listed above. This group is special because it is run by a student, usually in seniority standing, and is supervised by the head choir director. Giving those musician students an opportunity to grow in their education and leadership skills.
